Just Add Ink Challenge #10

Hi Everyone,

I've been playing tonight with the Just Add Ink Challenge and whilst I missed the deadline for entering I thought I'd still post my cards for you to see... I ended up making 3 cards as I just couldn't decide what to do:

Card #1

Card #2

Card #3

The sentiments on card #1 & 2 are a preview of the "Heard from the Heart" Stamp Set and the sentiment on card #3 says "Happy Anniversary", which is one of the new sentiments from the "Teeny Tiny Sentiments" stamp set. Both these stamp sets will be available from 1st April (yes that's tomorrow!)

Please email me if you are interested in any of the products/techniques used.

Last days of Sale-a-bration and a sneak peek...

Hi All,

Straight off, I must apologise about the quality of these photos.. My camera charger has taken itself for a walk somewhere and so I've used my camera on my phone to take these pics so they aren't the best quality...

Materials Used:
Stamp Set: Happy Moments
Card: Kraft, Whisper White, Pink Pirrouette, Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Black Staz-on & Versamark
Other: Rich Razzleberry Ribbon, Dimensionals, Scallop Punch, Snail Adhesive

And this card is using the soon to be released Pony Party & Teeny Tiny Stamp Sets and I've loosely cased the layout from the new catty.

Materials Used:
Stamp Set: Pony Party, Teeny Tiny Sentiments & Eastern Blooms
Card: Orchid Opulence, Pretty in Pink & Whisper White
Ink: Black Staz-on & Versamark
Other: Stampin' Write Markers, White Gel Pen, Slot punch; Word Window punch, Dimensionals, Purple ribbon from my stash

Well, hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with some better photos and more sneak peeks :)

Sneak Peak - New Bird Punch

Hi Everyone,

The new Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue isn't far away... So here's a quick sneak peek at the new Bird Punch that will be available from 1st April (and no its not an April Fool's Day joke!).

The photo doesn't show the rectangle layers have gone through my crimper, but in real life it does add a little extra to my card without distracting from the bird.

So the upcoming catalogue means that there is only 1 week left of Sale-a-bration and the Summer Mini catty as they finish at the end of this month. If you would like to order anything, please email or call me on 0407 262 452. Remember, I can post your order anywhere in Australia.

And if you would like a copy of the Autumn Mini, please let me know and I will happily email or post one to you.

Just Add Ink Challenge #8

Hi Again,

Here's my entry for the Just Add Ink Challenge this week.

I've cased myself from my Stamp 'n' Stack March Class and have just changed the colours to Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip.

These little baskets are the perfect size for a handful of mini eggs or the traditional style choccie egg (the same size as a chook egg).

Stamp 'n' Stack March - The results!

Hi Everyone,

Here's some photos of the Easter notecards and baskets we made at my Stamp 'n' Stack on Friday night. Should I warn you the projects feature the Chocolate Bunny Stamp again? hehehe  Too Funny

The Regal Rose Set

The Apricot Appeal Set

The Garden Green Set

The Going Grey Set

The Brocade Blue Card (the basket had been misplaced - ooops!)

The design of the baskets has been cased from Dawn's Stamping Studio. The papers are all from the Level 1 Hostess Rewards Set and come as a 6" square with lots of different patterns.

I kept the projects fairly simple as I had everyone work through them at their own pace with a tutorial and a sample notecard/basket to work from. It's the first time I've done a class this way and I think (hope) everyone felt a great sense of accomplishment with their projects.

If you would like any details, please email me.

Back with more bunnies!

Hi Everyone,

I don't think I could blame you if you are coming to the conclusion that I love chocolate bunnies! lol

But I'm being good and sticking with the non-chocolate sort and thus have made some more Easter themed cards with my Stampin' Up! Bunny! I made 2 of each of these cards towards the Easter raffle at the Playgroup we attend each week.

(The blotch in this photo from my camera -
I've no idea why! The card looks fine in real life)

Materials Used:
Stamp: Chocolate Bunny, "For You" sentiment from Vintage Labels (Free Sale-a-bration Set)
Card: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose & Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Always
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Other: Whisper White grosgrain ribbon, silver thread from my stash, Scallop square punch, Scallop edge punch, dimensionals

JAI's 7th Challenge - Second Attempt

Hi All,

Now I'm sure you are all really falling off your seats because here's my 3rd post for the day! Its my 2nd entry for the Just Add Ink Challenge. I've used my Chocolate Bunny again but in a different way because I actually used my BRAYER!!! OMG!! How many of you have a brayer in your cupboard gathering dust?? My mission this month is to actually get some ink on it and create some projects!

Right, so here's the photos:

The pint sized hand grabbing the card is my youngest daughter - aka the card thief!! She promptly stole this card and gave it a hug! Then decided to sit nicely looking at it, wait for me to try and take a photo and rip the bow off the card!! AAARRRGGGH! That particular bow took me ages to get right as I wasn't pulling it very tight!

Anyway, here's a close up of the bunny but it doesn't include the new bow:

Now the trick with this one is to ink up your brayer with your chosen colours (in this case - pink passion, tempting turquoise and green galore (although you can't actually see any green on the bunny, but that's a good thing right considering he's the Easter bunny and we don't want mouldy choccies!)

I then spritzed the entire brayer with some water and rolled onto some glossy white cardstock. When it was dry (which didn't take very long), I stamped the bunny in black Staz-on ink and cut him out. The bunny is then layered on some pink passion card (from my scrap stash!) and trimmed with a little border this time. Then its just a matter of layering all the other card & ribbon pieces together and adhering your "hyper-colour" bunny on with some dimensionals.

Materials Used:
Stamps: "Chocolate Bunny""One of a kind"
Cardstock: Green  Galore, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron & Pink Passion
Ink: Black Staz-on, Versamark
Other: Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Write Marker, Dimensionals, So Saffron ribbon (2009 bonus), Piercing Tool and Mat Pack

Just Add Ink Challenge #7

Hi Everyone,

Two posts in 1 day.. Wow! But at least this time I'm posting a pic of a card for the Just Add Ink Challenge and not more of my rambling!

This week is week 7 and we have been set a colour challenge by the powers that be with the colours:

And this is my card:

Firstly, I have to confess, in my excitement (read overwhelming need to clear my scrap stash), I picked out Gable Green cardstock instead of Green Galore - wasn't that silly! Anyway, it has been stamped with Green Galore flowers so hopefully that'll make up for my error!

Now, for some reason, my camera added a black splodgy mark on the bunny in this next photo- its not there in real life! But it does show the layering detail. The Bunny is a limited release from the Summer Mini Catty (he's only $13.95 - BARGAIN!) and he's been stamped with So Saffron ink and layered upon dimensionals onto the white oval over the top of a 2nd stamped bunny. I also added a scalloped border with some So Saffron card (click here for the instructions).

Oh and the sentiment says "everybody's favourite" which I think is very appropriate at Easter time with all these bunnies and chocolate around!

Materials Used:
Stamps: "Chocolate Bunny" (Summer Mini 2009-2010); "One of a Kind" (pg 95 of IBC) "Cute Converse" (Retired)
Cardstock: So Saffron, Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise & Green Galore
Ink: So Saffron, Green Galore
Other: Scallop Border Punch, So Saffron Ribbon (2009 bonus), Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers

Haitian Disaster Relief Results

Hi All,

Once again, Stampin′ Up! demonstrators have shown what Stampin′ Up! is all about by making a difference in the lives of others. From each of those sales, Stampin′ Up! will donate $2 to the Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. That’s over $27,000 (US) donated to people who desperately need your help. Sale-a-brate with a Trifold Card

Hi Everyone,

I've made a little trifold card here... Its a great way to add interest to your card without lots of layers and getting a chunky card.

Here's a pic of the card tied closed with some vanilla ribbon:

And here's the card half open:

And here's the inside of the card:

Materials Used:
  • Stamp Set: "Happy Moments" (Sale-a-bration 2010); "Boho Backgrounds";
  • Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Taken with Teal, Summer Sun
  • Other: Black Stazon ink, Stampin' Up Markers (Taken with Teal, Summer Sun and Brocade Blue); Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon
I have made this style of card at a workshop for a mix of ladies with card making experience and some beginners and it went down a treat. If you are interested, I'd be happy to conduct a class at your house and show you how to make these lil' cards and how to can receive this stamp set for free! Of course, you'll have to be living in the Perth area though....

Until next time, Happy Stamping!

BIG NEWS from Stampin' Up!!

Hi All,

I couldn't let the night go past without sharing some news I just found out from Stampin' Up! Its very exciting there are going to be 3 big new product releases including the Sizziz Big Shot in April!!

Now, I hear you ask "What's all the excitement about??" Well, here's a brief explanation:

1.  With the Sizziz Big Shot you can create die-cut shapes, envelopes, and tags quickly and easily combined with Bigz, Originals, and Sizzlits dies in exclusive Stampin’ Up! designs and patterns. Its going to be the perfect tool to help you create amazing projects using card stock, Designer Series paper, fabric, chipboard, plastic, window sheets, and more! The list is huge! I certainly didn't expect the Big Shot to be able to cut through so many things...

2. The next new product is the Clear-Mount Rubber Stamps. Stampin' Up! will now offer our exclusive stamp art in both traditional wood-mount, and the new clear-mount option. Our new clear-mount rubber stamps are the result of extensive research with the intent to maintain the very best image quality in the stamping industry, while at the same time offering the ease-of-use and storability inherent in repositionable clear-mount rubber stamps.

3. The New Punch Body Style - Starting with the Autumn-Winter Mini and continuing with all new punch designs going forward, Stampin' Up! has adopted a new body style for our punches! With a larger cutting surface and a sleeker body, our new punches give you greater cutting precision, better punching leverage, and space-saving storage.

The Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue begins 1st April, so if you would like to pre-order a copy of the Autumn Mini Catalogue, please email me and I will send one to you anywhere in Australia!

So, stay tuned as I'll be doing my research and will have more to tell you soon about these new and exciting products and hopefully some sneak peeks too!!

Thanks for looking,

Note: If this post looks a little familar its because I was a little too excited and posted this a little too early in February! ooops! Anyway, its all ok now and I'm allowed to tell you this exciting news!

Happy 1st B'day Nicholas

Hi Everyone,

It was my nephew's 1st b'day yesterday and I thought I'd share the card I made for him.

I've used the Animal Stories stamp set, yes, the obsession with this set continues, I promise I will post some cards using other sets soon....

Do you like the edging detail? Here's how I did it:

  • Using the scallop border punch, punch your border along the straight edges of your card

  • Now, go back over your border but instead of lining up the scallops on the silver scallop guideline on the punch, place each punched scallop in the middle of 2 scallops on the silver guideline; ie: for each rise of the punched scallop, place it on the silver scallop's valley or dip instead
  • You can create the same effect with the scalloped circle, except you use your scalloped circle punch upside down and can see the cutting blades to line up the 2nd scalloped circle.

Materials Used:
Stamp Set: Animal Stories, Sentiment: Riveting (retired hostess set)
Cardstock: Kraft, Kiwi Kiss, Night of Navy & Whisper White
Punches: Scallop border, scallop circle, 1 3/8 circle, 1 1/4 circle
Other: Navy Grosgrain ribbon, Versamark, Paper clip from Clips Assortment pack
