Yay I won!

Hi Everyone,

You're probably sick of me talking about Unconvention by now but I do have a couple more projects to show you and also to share my happy news that I won a couple of the challenges...

So, without further ado, here's my winning entries:

Michelle's Colour Challenge - I did post a pic of this card the other day but didn't know I'd won... See this previous post for more info.

I received a special mention for this Gift bag challenge set by Caroline Colgan. Caroline provided us with the tutorial to make this gorgeous giftbag with a pocket for the co-ordinating card.

And I won the 3D Project Challenge set by Christine Healey with this entry:

The idea is to then slip 2 cards and envelopes inside the holder to make a gorgeous little gift.... I've made another one of these with the matching cards, but in totally different colours... The only catch is I just can't show you yet as its on its way to someone special.... So check back in a couple of days to see what it looks like.

There were more challenges than I had time to complete over the weekend, but I am determined to try them all so I will post any new creations here for you to see.

Unconvention has given me a major boost of self-confidence... I set one of the challenges which had a great response on ESAD (not so good here on my blog unfortunately), and then completed several other challenges... To win 2 and receive a special mention, makes me realise that my work is probably better than I give myself credit for and that makes me more confident and gave me a silly smile to wear on my face over the past week lol Bubblegum

I also took part in 1 of 4 scavenger hunts held by ESAD and I won that too... This was a total surprise and considering I had miss 3 on my lap and still managed to flick through our Stampin' Up! Catties to find the answers, I was super stoked to have answered any of the questions.

I still have a couple of Unconvention projects to show you so keep popping back to see them...

And, if you live in the Perth metro area and are interested in making any of these projects or cards, please let me know as I would love to show you and a couple of your friends how!

Another Unconvention Project....

Hi Everyone,

As promised, I'm back with more of my Unconvention projects from the weekend.

This scrapbooking page is based on a sketch layout provided by Kelly Slattery... And its the first one I've done for my eldest daughter (who is now 3 1/2yrs old)... So that means I've got a lot of catching up to do and then there's also a whole other album for my youngest daughter as well... Better get scrappin'!

This is the layout:

And this is my page:

Scrapping my friends.....

Haha, bet that made you look twice.... I have 'scrapped' my friends into a scrapbooking page as another Unconvention challenge.

This challenge was by SheryleeTutt, a demo in Karratha. We needed to use punch art on our page... somehow and somewhere... Now like scrapbooking, I don't really do much punch art either so I had to google some ideas...

I found this flower on Julia Betten's site along with a couple of other ideas for future pages.

And this is what I did:

My "flowers" were made with the rounded tab, 1 3/8" circle, 1 1/4" circle and scallop circle punches. The oval leaves were freehand as I'm yet to add the oval punches to my collection.

I'm slowly building up my scrapbook.. And there's more pages to come later in the week....

The colours we were required to use were:
  • Rich Razzleberry
  • Old Olive
  • More Mustard
  • Chocolate Chip

See I told you....

....that I would be back with another JAI Challenge #17 entry!! This time its more watercolouring and I really really love this card.... Especially seeing as most of the card was a leftover kit from a Stamp 'n' Stack a few months ago. I'm still on my mission to use my scraps up!!!

Here's my card

And here's a close up of the colouring... Not bad hey!  Sea Foam
I was super stoked at the shading I managed on the flower pot!!

JAI Challenge #17

Hi Everyone,

Its time for this week's Just Add Ink Challenge... This week is #17 and we needed to "Just Add.... A technique from the Blog Hop" the Design Team has presented on each of their blogs as tutorials.

I have been practicing my watercolouring with my aqua painter and although there's a couple of mistakes on this card, I still really like it!!!

And I've also stamped directly onto some Designer series paper (ok, so its not an image on the paper but at least I didn't layer up the sentiment like I normally would!  Cotton Candy

Well, I should be back soon with more... I know me, I just can't leave it at one entry especially not with all these techniques!!!!

Using some Rub-ons

Hi All,

Both of these cards were made using the Bright Delights Rub-ons.. Have you tried them? Stampin' Up!'s rub-ons are so easy to use - they transfer to the page so cleanly!! And the Bright Delights pack, found on page 139 2009-10 IBC, makes it even easier to co-ordinate your colours as you just follow the colours they are made with - Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Rose Red and Chocolate Chip...

Unfortunately the card with the tree will never be given to anyone as after these photos were taken, it was grabbed by my youngest daughter and she added her touches with a pen! Sneaky lil' girl was so fast - guess she knew just what the card 'needed'.

Hi,

Do you have a wishlist as long as your arm.... Or perhaps to keep it 'simple' the entire Idea Book is your wishlist... Well, have you thought about hosting a Workshop? You could get lots of these goodies for FREE!

In-home Workshops are a great, fun way to catch up with friends and make a card or 2. I offer 3 main class types:

Make & Take Class #2:
- Make 2 cards and a 3D item (ie box) in this class for just $15. Time required: Approx 2.5hours

Everything that you will need for each project is supplied, including envelopes and adhesive.

Wow - Beautiful Blogger Award

Hi Everyone,

Last week, my sideline Andrea awarded me the Beautiful Blogger.... Thank you Andrea!!!!!

Now I've been racking my brains to think of 10 people that haven't already received this award and so far haven't had much luck. This award is spreading like wildfire through all my fellow SU! Demos!

So I thought I'd better take part in the other half of the award and that is to tell people 10 things about myself, so here goes:
  1. I'm happily married stay at home mum with 2 daughters - 3yo and 20mths (but we don't really spend that much time at home!)
  2. I'm addicted to NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles - love a good crime show!!!
  3. I'm quite the Nanna and love a nanna nap, a nanna rug over my knees (like last night when updating my blog with all my JAI entries - see previous 3 posts) and I also want to learn how to knit!
  4. I'm taking part in the ESAD Unconvention (for any SU! demo who can't make it to the actually Stampin' Up! Convention in a couple of weeks).
  5. I have only had 3 employees ever- check-out chick @ Kmart, Medical Receptionist, and then Receptionist turned Assisant Office Manager at my last job.
  6. I have a black and white cat - May, a black and white dog - Zac and several goldfish including my 2 mutants in the pond outside - I don't know how they survived the pond drying out a couple of summers ago!!!!! Very FREAKY to make a shadow over a fish laying on its side and it flipped over!!!!!
  7. I embrace manyof the traits of being a Gemini (and many would say I embrace being born in the year of the dog too!!).
  8. I'm sticking fairly well to several of my New Years' resolutions... Regular blogging was one.... Many others have been lost along the way...
  9. I'm a shocking one for making lists and attempting to do just about everything..... else that's not on the list!!!
  10. I love facebook and totally admit to being addicted to farmville!!! I've banned myself from lots of other games so I don't totally abandon my family!
Well, I'm going to keep thinking and looking to find 10 other bloggers to pass this award onto, but I thought I'd better at least do half of it.... Did you know that it's a Gemini trait to start something and move onto the the next thing before the 1st is completed.... mmmm a Gemini definately lives at my house!!

Oh, can I add one more thing? I'm getting a BIGSHOT soon!!!!! Just a couple more weeks to wait as my mum and I are going to share it and we are ordering it at her next SU! workshop!!!!!!! So excited!!!!!!!

JAI #16's third entry....

mmmmm I entirely blame the extended holiday my cardmaking mojo seemed to have add lately for the explosion in posts tonight... Well that and another fab challenge from the team over at JAI...

So this is my 3rd and final entry for the Just Add Ink Challenge #16

Ok that's it from me! My hands are semi frozen and I'm sitting with a blanket over my knees and a scarf on! Such a Nanna!! So on that note, I'm signing off and I'll be back later this week with more to show you! Night, Night!  Purple
